The trials of turbokaopitaism

The group of Maureen, Emma, Karen and Megan knows exactly where they want to go. The wild wombat leaves no doubt about it and leads the other three with certain gestures through the aisles of the mall. They pass the store where Emma catches a glimpse of the other girls talking to a salesman in a green and white uniform.

“Not now Emma, later,” Megan says and pulls the girl by the hand. Eventually they reach their destination.

“A bit obvious, eh Megan?” grumbles Maureen.

“Shut up” counters the middle sister and enters the Victorias Secret store. Of course, she immediately turns to a saleswoman as well.

“How can I help?” asks the girl who is about the same age as the group.

“My sister here tried to seduce her boyfriend yesterday with a simple bra and panties and we are here now to iron out that mistake,” she says, pointing unabashedly at Maureen, who slaps her forehead.

“Thanks, but we don’t need any help,” she then says loudly and with over-friendly politeness, pushing the laughing Megan along.

“What?” the sister asks good-humoredly.

“I’m certainly not going to let a stranger help me pick out sexy underwear for my boyfriend and brother” she hums conspiratorially but only making Megan laugh harder.

“Exactly,” Karen agrees. “We can do that on our own.” With that, she takes the lead, making the older sister realize that resistance is futile.

“It’s not that bad” she tries to justify herself, in vain.

“With Karen, maybe,” Megan diagnoses with a wink. “But you’re in dire need of a makeover.”

“Hello? I mean…” With a deft motion, Maureen lifts her two arguments upward. “Does that need any improvement?”

“Well.” Karen swings up beside Maureen with a sweeping swing of her hips and mimics her gesture. “You could look like this when we’re done with you.” With her hip, she nudges the other girl.

“Hey,” the older sister pouts. “I know how to handle guys, okay? I was with him before you. And you haven’t even had sex with him yet.”

“Okay, you got me.” With a shrug and a laugh, Karen shows no ill feelings and Megan rounds out the situation that could have ended in an argument.

“If you two confront my Biggie in lingerie, you’ll probably bring him to his grave. And then I’ll get mad.”

“And we all know you better not mess with a pissed-off wombat.” The older sister also shows sensitivity. Only Emma stands a little apart, but watches the group with satisfaction.

The store staff keeping Victoria’s secret a secret can only watch from the sideline as the four girls – actually three girls with Emma with them – pick out several pieces and take them to the dressing rooms.

“Aren’t you going to try anything on?” Karen asks Emma when everyone notices that the girl’s hands are empty. She just shakes her head. Karen is about to say something, but Maureen beats her to it.

“You don’t have to. Everyone has their style, and of the four of us, you’re the one who represents it the most.”

“True,” Megan agrees. “Emma doesn’t need lingerie to be sexy.”

“I-It’s not like I didn’t want any…” mumbles Emma. The other girls exchange glances.

“I didn’t mean to exclude you” retorts the wombat.

“You don’t” comes the quick reply. Then nothing more.

“Maybe you just won’t find anything here for you” suggests Maureen. “As far as I’m concerned, you look sexy in regular clothes too.”

“And you’re not bi?” quips Karen, but then swings to the new course as well. She’s already a little intimidated by the well-rehearsed group that seems to have known each other forever. The sisters are also meant for him, and Emma has loved him for half her life. Make an effort Grant. Be worthy of him! “Maybe some other clothes would suit your style?” she then suggests. Emma takes it well and is also embarrassed. She wants to please her boyfriend. Only now that he has so little time for her… No. You can’t think like that. You have to support him.

“Uh… I think I know what I want…” she says a bit haltingly but an idea forms in her head.

“We’ll go with you” decides Maureen, who already knows that Emma will not find happiness with Victoria and wants to prove to her boyfriend that she will take good care of the group in his absence. But Emma can do it well on her own. Maybe I should have gone with Millie. But she also enjoys the carefree time with the person she used to only fight with. Seeing Megan as an ally instead of an enemy is a wish she didn’t know she had until Finn granted it.

“No, no, it’s okay,” the bookworm quickly waves off. “I’ll be fine.” She smiles and takes the decision from Maureen. Then she leaves the store and the other girls watch as she awkwardly squeezes past the saleswoman who wishes her another good day and looks a little embarrassed when Emma doesn’t return the greeting. Rarely has anyone left the store in such a hurry. Maureen looks at the woman and grunts in amusement.

“What is it?” asks Megan who is already standing with one leg in the dressing room, her arm full of black, white and blue underwear.

“That reminds me of Seaview,” the other sister mutters.

“Emma?”

“The salesgirl.”

“Not bi” grins Karen.

“No” counters Maureen, smiling. “Not bi. I had sex with Finn in the dressing room.”

“No shit!” escapes Megan and Karen simultaneously, and Maureen is quite proud.

“I guess you haven’t had that yet.”

“Not with Finn,” Karen mutters. Should I tell John about all this? But her attention is hijacked by her boyfriend’s sister who tells her story in a quiet but excited voice, enjoying it to the fullest.

“We went clothes shopping so I’d at least have one or two things to wear after…. you know. Well, there was this little salesgirl, actually quite cute. But…”

“Not bi.”

“But! She kind of wouldn’t leave us alone. I was just naked, and I just stuck my head through the curtain. And Finn is just Finn. That’s when he fingered me.”

“So no sex after all?” wants Karen to know.

“You of all people should know what he can do with his fingers.” That hit home, but in a good way. “Somehow that was cool,” she continues, her gaze fixed on the distance. “I’ve done some wild stuff but nothing I was really proud of in retrospect. It was always to please the guys or prove something to myself.” Almost in disbelief, she shakes her head. “But that was really hot. I don’t know, but it was kind of lewd to see him pleasuring me just inches from the other girl. That he wanted me so badly with no regard for the consequences.”

“Doesn’t sound like my Biggie,” Megan says.

“After all, there’s a difference between risky sex and not watching over your siblings.”

“Yeah right. I jumped him in the open during our first kiss, too.” Now both sisters’ eyes glaze over. “When you realize there’s nothing in his world but you…those are the moments.” Then her face contorts a bit. “I could bite myself in the ass for falling asleep last night. Did you really just come through his fingers?” The girls talk without shame in the middle of the store. None of them thinks that other customers might hear them. So far, the encounters had always gone in their favor.

“He didn’t even penetrate her,” Maureen says shaking her head, crossing her arms and looking at Karen from the side. She feels slightly exposed, but knows that’s part of life in the harem. No secrets. “He was just fondling her breasts.”

“I can understand that…” murmurs Megan. “But shit, I want some of that.” Karen just stands between the two sisters as she did last night, watching them talk without shame about the most intimate things in their sex lives. She herself has a thoroughly low threshold for shame, but feels at this moment like something is expected of her.

“I… well, would also like to…. experience what Finn feels like, soon.” Megan seems to have heard what she wanted.

“Shit girl, you’re going to lose your mind.” Karen has had good sex in her life. Frequently, too. Anyone who makes it over her threshold must be persistent and well hung. But Maureen is also now reinforcing the myth about the boy she desires.

“Amen to that,” the older one says reverently. “And when you hear him talk…”

“Well I’m in for a treat” Karen grunts, but only plays hard to get.

“Absolutely.” Megan radiates tremendous anticipation, for herself but also for her friend.

“Then we should get a year’s supply of condoms, though.” The thought of it drives young Grant crazy. It’s nice to know how open people are about their desires here and… Only now does she notice that the sisters are looking at her with expressionless faces. Karen stumbles. “What is it?”

“Karen…” Megan begins, but at that moment the employee appears behind them and clears her throat. Karen is still quite taken aback by the situation and doesn’t notice her at first while the other two turn away from her and towards the woman, uncomfortably touched.

“Did I do something wrong…” Karen wants to know quickly.

“Sorry,” the woman politely interrupts. “We’ve been hearing complaints claiming that the three of you are behaving improperly here.” Behind the lady, an older woman who doesn’t look at all like belongs to this place stands at a distance and pretends to overhear the conversation. “I regret to inform you that this behavior will not be tolerated here. Please discuss these issues outside or continue shopping without further disturbance. Thank you.” The lady leaves no doubt that she is not one to be joked with, and Maureen almost misses the younger girl from Seaview. But without Finn and his skilled fingers, she has no reason to rebel against the lady. In the past she would have loved to join the fray, but now she’d rather save the calories for her friend.

“We apologize,” she says kindly. Megan seems to want to go on the attack at first, but then probably has the same thoughts as her sister. “We’ll behave ourselves from now on.” The saleswoman turns conspicuously to the woman watching the group from a distance and waits with the girls until she has moved away. Megan and Maureen are already used to the attention, especially the wombat who embarrasses her brother at every opportunity. For Karen, this is still new but she is intimidated especially by the girls’ behavior. The saleswoman turns to the group.

“Sorry, but I had to do that.” She shrugs. “The old battleship often comes here and complains about the youth of today. I’m sure she’s just lonely.” The frankness of the woman surprises the sisters while it is not enough also to free Karen from her world of thoughts.

“Yeah, no problem” Megan waves off and wants to turn back to Karen. The group is standing just before the changing rooms, but still in the middle of the salesroom, and she only now realizes that they haven’t really been talking quietly.

“Are you buying the clothes for a specific occasion?” Maureen raises her eyebrows.

“For our friends,” she says, “Why?” The saleswoman smiles thinly.

“I heard you guys. Are all your friends named Finn?” She asks this without batting an eye, and it’s enough to scare the girls into denial. The salesgirl nods. She has short black hair that reaches her ears and her skin is brown as cane sugar with lots of tattoos. “That’s what I thought.”

“What do you want?” asks Megan immediately in a businesslike voice.

“I like you” the girl admits. “My name is Rebecca.” She holds out her hand to the other girls and Maureen grabs it. “What you guys are saying about this guy sounds really interesting.” The girls stiffen as the stranger pushes her way into the group like this. She seems to misunderstand the others’ behavior, though. “It’s cool ladies.” She raises her hands placatingly. “I like to have an adventure sometimes, too. And… what’s his name? Finn? He seems like the right guy to get me that.” Her smile is disarming but still Karen doesn’t know what to say. In her head, she’s still trying to figure out what she did wrong, but now the realization is crashing down on her like an avalanche that they’ve blabbed. All of them. The collective betrayal of their friend leaves all the girls speechless. “Come on,” laughs the salesgirl. “I’m sure there’s room for one more.” The newest girl in his harem knows the least about how Finn deals with new suitors but it looks like Megan is at a loss as well. So far, no girl has been rejected or pushed off the edge of the bed by Finn but the circumstances are not the same here either. Are they? What makes Rebecca different from me and his sisters? The face of Karen turns red as she compares herself to the strange girl who is curiously eyeing the group. “I know it’s sudden, but you must be used to it by now,” she speculates, and she’s actually right.

“Yeah, I guess…” says Megan hesitantly, but can’t speak any further.

“There you go. So what do you say?” But again there is only restrained silence from the girls who just talked so exuberantly about sex with their boyfriend. Megan notices how her stomach twists at the thought of what she has done. She, of all people, who yesterday vowed to do better. They should have been more careful. Finn knew it, he saw it coming. We have to be more careful now than we were at the lake. We’re back to normal, she thinks with aching guts. And he was right. Her parents, all the girls’ parents, and their friends, and their friends, they all go shopping in that damn mall. What else are you supposed to do in your spare time in turbo-capitalism? It’s real, real pain Megan feels as she thinks back to that time at the lake. “Hello?” But time doesn’t stop, and the girl is still waiting for an answer Megan can’t give her. And Karen certainly can’t. The clearing of her throat by Maureen feels to her like the saving ringing of the bells. The crisis is over. Never before has Megan felt what she feels now as Maureen begins to speak.

“Rebecca, listen…” she says, drawing the attention of everyone present. She doesn’t feel comfortable in her skin either, has big doubts about being the right one. But it also feels so good to see Megan looking up at her, eyes wide, mouth slightly open. Karen wants to sink into the ground and basically Maureen wants the same. But she’s surprised herself to hear herself speak. A few weeks ago, she would have bet that if she ever stood in front of someone, it would be out of pure selfishness. Now she just has Finn in her mind’s eye and the knowledge of how proud he will be of her when she saves the day for her little sister Megan and his other girls. And she also sees her sister’s expression change and become something she never thought she would see in the eyes of one of her sisters. Pride and affection. Her voice trembles, but only slightly, and only out of excitement, not fear. “I can assure you that Finn fucks like a young god.” The girl licks her lips greedily.

“Great. I can’t wait.”

“But I’m afraid I have to put the brakes on you. We’re all part of his harem, that’s right. And he’s got more girls than us, too.”

“Shit, that horny goat.” Rebecca doesn’t lose any of her bubbly demeanor, but realizes what the older girl is trying to tell her. “So you’re saying there are too many of you anyway?”

“Honestly, I have no idea where my boyfriend’s limit is anymore. He may well welcome you with open arms.” Beside her, Maureen hears her harem sisters take a deep breath. “And it’s not up to us to decide that, either.”

“He must have such a gigantic piece if you all think so.”

“I can give him your number if you like. Finn likes to decide these things on the fly.” Rebecca hastily reaches into her bag and pulls out a pen and a pad with the store’s logo on it. It’s almost funny how hastily she scribbles the numbers on it, but Megan and Karen can’t believe what’s happening, Megan in particular is holding back, owing her big sister a vote of confidence, and Karen would rather let others decide anyway.

“Here you go!” Rebecca’s eyes are wide and she can’t stop grinning.

“But I also have to tell you that our harem is not based on sex. I mean…” Maureen grins mischievously “We all get stupid at the sight of his cock, sure.” Then she gets serious again and her voice changes so much that even Rebecca has no doubt. “But what keeps us together is our love for him. Nothing more. We all love Finn and would do anything to protect him. Anything.”

“So you’re telling me the boy has three girlfriends, at least, and you all love him? And he loves you guys?” Maureen nods the nod of conviction. “So no horny fucking on the weekends? A different one every day and an orgy on Sunday?”

“I don’t know what day it was at our last orgy. But it was awesome. Right, Megan?” The middle Lynchwood almost swoons and Karen puts a hand over her mouth as Maureen giggles. Then she turns back around. “But it’s love. Something he loves about all of us. And we love him.”

“I see. A million-dollar hit.” Rebecca almost looks disappointed, but then shrugs and tears off the note. With a wink, she hands it to Maureen.

“Keep an eye on this guy. Someone like him is only born every fifty years. And if one of you doesn’t treat him the way he deserves then I’ll gladly fill in for her.” Besides the two, the cheeks of Megan puff out angrily but her big sister holds her back.

“We’ll let you know if he takes a fancy to you or wants to punish one of us.”

“Hot,” Rebecca nods and grins. “Then I hope you have a pleasant stay and if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them.” With that, she disappears back into the depths of the mysteries surrounding Victoria, leaving the three girls not sure what to feel right now. Megan brings it down to a common denominator fit.

“What the fuck? What was that just now?”

“I think we just ran into our town’s Melina,” Maureen mutters.

“Who now knows about our secret” Karen continues and a simultaneously comforting and eerie shiver runs down her spine. Our secret. Which is in danger. Yet I’ve barely had a chance to get to know Finn better.

“Maureen, what…” Megan doesn’t need to continue.

“I thought it was for the best. What were we thinking talking so openly?” The oldest in the group shakes her head. “I just thought a mix of truth and mystery would appease her.”

“Do you think she’ll tell?” wants Karen to know.

“To whom?” retorts Maureen.

“Just everyone? Our parents, friends, classmates, teachers? Finn!” The last point is especially important to Karen who doesn’t want to make any mistakes. “Should we tell him?”

“We don’t keep secrets from him,” Megan says, not sounding too convinced this time. The thought of her Biggie finding out how reckless she’s been doesn’t sit well with her at all.

“So, should we tell him that we have another… candidate for him?” Karen doesn’t let up. She notices the feeling of haste settling on her. She’s only known Finn for such a short time, has yet to prove herself to him, and now another girl is about to come along? Or would he be happy if she presented him with Rebecca?

“Maureen?” asks Megan, sounding just as meek as the thoughts of Karen. “What does my big sister think?” The corners of her mouth twitch as Maureen hears Megan.

“I think, first of all, that I’m proud of you. And grateful. Come here.” The sisters hug briefly while Megan, quite unusual for the past but hopefully common for the future, presses her face tightly against her bis sister’s chest and wraps her arms around her back.

“Thank you.” The slight blush on her cheeks makes Maureen feel something else entirely, not very sisterly feelings that combine well with the entirely sisterly feelings she feels more and more strongly. “And what do you think about the other things?” Maureen giggles and her breasts rub against her sister’s cheeks.

“Like hell I’m going to let that girl see my little brother.” Megan breaks away from her and looks at her in wonder.

“What, but Finn…” The older girl shakes her head and Karen watches in fascination as the two girls interact. She’s an only child herself, but even if she’d had someone her own age to grow up with, she still couldn’t imagine the bond between Maureen and Megan. Seeing how the two of them interact, especially since Karen still knows the stories about Maureen that her sister told her, makes her realize how Finn must feel. Even she, who has no connection like the siblings share, understands how it must be for him to see her friend and Maureen like this.

“Finn and his royal piston are mine and yours only,” Maureen says, ruffling her sister’s hair. But then she falters, and Karen is amazed to see her older sister dedicating herself to the younger one in an area where the latter is more knowledgeable. “Is it wrong to think that way?” Megan has to laugh.

“I have no idea. Hasn’t happened yet. There was a time when I knew he loved Millie. I thought more than me. That’s when I wanted him all to myself. But because she’s my sister, just like you, I didn’t give it a second thought.” The girls talk more quietly to each other now, look around more often. Sex is one thing, love, what they have with Finn is nobody’s business. That’s exactly the question. Does Finn decide who it is any of their business? Would he want it that way or would he let the girls decide? Leadership and docility, what is better at what in what issues. “It has always been clear to me that we belong together. There is no us without the others. And when I finally got what I wanted, I don’t know, I didn’t want it for myself alone.” And so the girls decide for themselves not to bring Finn and Rebecca together. It’s not envy or hatred, but the fact that each of them is in the harem because of something that has nothing to do with sex. Often not even with fun. The harem of Finn Lynchwood is a meltingpod of girls who have all found something that exists only once in the world, and what they have must not be tainted by the fun of lust. Everyone sees it that way except Karen, the newest in the shared world.

“But it sounds like Finn has brainwashed you,” she says, biting her lips painfully right after. “Sorry.”

“Never mind,” comes the reply along with a shrug. “Why don’t you ask yourself? It’s up to each of us. Do you want Finn all to yourself?” This catches Karen Grant the sex bomb surprisingly off guard. But then again, it doesn’t.

“No, you’re right. I never thought I’d meet someone who… understands me. Oh, I don’t know.” But her smile betrays her. “On the one hand, I want him all to myself. I mean, that’s normal, right?” She looks around between the girls but doesn’t get any dirty looks. “But I also know I don’t have the right. He, um, charmed me, yeah, without having to try very hard. It just happens with him, doesn’t it?” The location for this conversation is actually very inappropriate but neither of the girls mind talking about love in front of the dressing rooms in a lingerie store. When it comes to Finn, it’s hard to hold back anyway. “He… is just there… And that’s enough. I can’t begin to imagine what it must be like to live with him…” Pause again. “But I’m dying to find out. I… I’ve fallen in love with a boy who already has a girlfriend… girlfriends. Life is usually so unfair and hard. Here I have a chance that you don’t usually get, right? And I don’t want to give it away.” She takes a deep breath, tightens. “And if I have to let other girls sleep with him to do it… It’s worth it to me.” Karen considers for a moment. “That’s not what you wanted to hear, is it?” Again it’s Megan who wants to say something but is held back by Maureen. What would have led to a terrible argument earlier feels good and safe to the little wombat now.

“It took me years to walk the path you did within a few days,” the older girl says. “And I know it can often be hard. Even without the situation we’re all in.”

“The perfect situation,” Megan says somewhat defiantly, defending her brother just enough to make her feel good.

“The perfect situation” her sister replies, putting an arm around her, “We’ll give you time Karen, don’t worry about it.” Then her voice becomes more serious. “But life with Finn comes with challenges, just like any other relationship. We have the advantage of all of us being there for each other, making each other feel safe, but we also have to understand that this can only work if we’re all sure about one thing.”

“What? I want to know,” Karen says eagerly.

“Finn goes first.” It’s so simple, yet so complex. “He’d beg to differ, but Megan and I have argued a lot, Megan and Millie too. Susan and Denise have been pretty sassy and wild.” Her eyes rest on Karen. “And you’re very confident, yet very needy. Neither Finn nor the rest of us blame you. Megan already said it: We all have something we only get from him. That means we all need to know how we feel about each other and ourselves.”

“I understand,” Karen murmurs. She wants to say something else, but at that moment two laughing teenagers scurry past them, apparently finding it funny to buy underwear. They disappear behind the curtains of the changing rooms a few meters away, making it difficult to continue talking.

“Let’s do why we’re here” Maureen suggests and Megan follows, Karen too.

The girls stroll through the aisles one at a time, searching for themselves. Megan refrains from advising the others and keeps more to her sister’s side while the third in the bunch stays alone. Karen wants it that way, too, because she has a lot to think about. Every now and then she casts a glance at the sisters who soon become witty and lively again and show each other different clothes. Megan takes the lead and holds out various bras and panties to her sister, sets in different colors, patterns and embroidery.

“Karen” she then calls out a little too loud and in a good mood, waving the girl back to the group. “We need your advice,” she says, pulling the girl with her into a booth. The three of them are cramped but it’s not like the girls haven’t seen each other naked before. “My sister can’t decide between black and red,” she says and presents the pieces to Karen. The sex bomb of the school doesn’t really know what to say and stands shyly in the tight cabin. The fact that the three girls touch each other contrasts with the mood and Megan doesn’t like that at all. “Hey,” she says tenderly. “Don’t get your knickers in a twist, okay? Finn honestly likes you, everyone can see that. The rest will come with time. Love is big, scary, and hard. But you’re not alone in this.”

“And we all make mistakes sometimes, okay?” pokes Maureen her words. “We’re all not perfect.”

“Only Finn, Millie would rightly say now,” the other sister says, laughing. In fact, the mood of Karen lifts as she begins to understand that not everything has to be perfect, even if it was with the sisters. She herself needs the security Finn gives her and the others have understood that now.

“Let me see then,” she says and grins shyly. The restraint is immediately abandoned as Maureen strips off her clothes, the underwear too, and presents her selection.

In the end, the clothes that were to be bought for Maureen are not the most important thing of the day. Karen Grant feels light and carefree with the help of her friends, but also feels the responsibility on her shoulders. It is not easy for her to see the sisters naked and not disappear in the spirit of the previous night but if the others can do it, so can she. With their help, Maureen decides on a daring costume in black and gold and Megan whistles appreciatively as she is shown the suspender stockings artfully connected to the almost non-existent panties. She squeezes her ample breasts into a bra, also black, with gold patterns on it, the halters of which divide over her shoulders and glide in many lines past her shoulder blades. Laughing, she realizes that she will only wear the costume for a short time before Finn destroys it with his hands and teeth. Megan seems to be in her element as she hands her sister a pair of high-heeled shoes and velvet gloves that reach her sister’s elbows. Then the sisters look over at Karen and then at the things she has chosen.

“Okay, I understand that,” Maureen says and a short time later looks at Karen who smiles carefully and shows her selection.

“I wouldn’t have thought of you,” Megan replies, putting her hands on her hips. Karen has taken her time with her selection and where Maureen had several options, Karen has narrowed it down to just one. A light blue, almost see-through negligee with fluffy edges at the hem of the skirt just above her knees, the long sleeves and the somewhat flared neckband. Above her breasts, the fabric is tighter so there is no need to wear any other underwear underneath and the only assessor she has chosen is a pair of knee-length nylon pants, also blue. On the shirt, the only thing she allows herself is the incisions on the outside of her thighs that extend to about her hips. “I know your only fans. Your fans would give you hell for this one.”

“But does…he like it?” Karen imagines standing in the middle of a room. Her fans on one side, Finn all alone on the other. Who will she go to? “That’s all I care about.”

“Well said,” Maureen nods her head. “I’ll steal a few lines from you.” Karen smiles with satisfaction but wants an answer, needs an answer.

“He’ll love it” Megan agrees, putting her hand on her friend’s shoulder “Trust me. He’ll love you.”

“One last thing,” Karen finally says. She is a few hundred dollars poorer but has gained much more important things. “Please.” Her friends look at her. They carry the bags, the least they can do. “About…” Karen looks around. “The condoms.” Megan giggles.

“Yeah, that threw you off, didn’t it? No problem.” She takes a step closer to Karen as the three of them wander the busy, noisy aisles of the mall. Maureen gets on the phone with Emma and arranges a meeting place. “We’re not just his girlfriends. We’re his harem. We’re all doing it without condoms. We haven’t discussed it yet but so far it seems to be an unwritten law.”

“But does he want children? By all of us?”

“Honestly, I don’t know. It’s all still new to us, too. But we can’t expect him to worry about such trifles. With all the women, I don’t want him to have anything else on his mind but our happiness. That’s why I reacted the way I did earlier. We’re his girls and we owe it to him to take care of ourselves in certain circumstances.”

“I understand.”

“I don’t mean that in a bad way. But when you think about how many times he’s had to run through the night because of us, the things he has to do… We owe it to him to take care of some important things.”

“I still have questions though… if that’s okay. For example…” But Megan gently interrupts her,

“Karen.” The addressed is silent with ears glowing with shame. Megan wants to say something but then laughs. “Once you spend real time with him you’ll figure it all out on your own, I promise. I know my Biggie and there are some things he’s really, really good at. It’s my fault that you didn’t realize that yesterday and I apologize for that. That’s what I meant about Finn being so busy. But when things really get going between you, believe me, everything else will be so easy you’ll think the world is your oyster.” Karen can hardly believe it, but wants to with every fiber of her body. What she hears is all so incredible, fantastic, fabulous. No more hiding.

“Just what I experienced with you guys last night was so…cool.” Megan snorts in delight as Karen hugs her in the middle of the mall. “I can’t wait.”

“Come on,” Megan laughs. “Let’s go find Emma.” And so Karen has taken the next step on the path all the girls before her have taken. And it feels good.
