Torture
The rest of the morning you spend indoors, which seems a sin given the sun that shines outside. But Millie wanted a round of ‘singband’ on the game console. You use the flat-screen TV that hangs on the wall on the sofa niche. The console is on a table below. It is torture, true, unadorned torture that raises its ugly head and spits in your face: ‘You cannot sing!’ And so you feel when you hit the notes more badly than right. Of course, Millie only chose songs that you have no idea about or that you simply have never heard of whileDenise roars into her microphone without inhibitions, hits no note and is proud of her mediocre rating.
“And? How was I?” she asks the group a little out of breath. You try to clear your ears with your fingers. Is that blood?
“What?” you cry out.
“And? HOW WAS I?” Denise roars with amusement, her hands clenched into fists and slightly leaning forward.
“WHAT???” You get a sofa cushion thrown in the face and have to laugh. It is a cheerful mood, which makes you very happy. At some point even Karen joins the group.
“It seems to be fun. What have you sung so far?” she asks and you give her a list of the songs that are still available.
“How about Every and Ivory?” She asks, smiling devilishly. The eyes of Claire and Susan light up at the performance.
“What? No! No way!” But while you arguing with Karen, the two McKinley sisters already grabbed the microphone. While the two are performing their duet, you are suffering on the sofa and watching the girls. At least that brings her closer to the group, you think. The two lie in their arms and sing loudly, reading the lyrics from their cell phones. When they are finished, you, your sisters, Denise and Karen applaud the two. “Yes that was awesome. What do we want to do now?” you ask desperately.
“We will of course continue,” Karen exclaims naturally. “I just got started. Here, I’ve also chosen a song.” She gets up and picks up the microphone. “I don’t need the cell phone. I know the text by heart.”
“What are you going to sing for us?” you ask.
“Southern Girls from Cheap Trick,” she says proudly. You sit on the sofa and watch her get ready. At least you know the song and considering the text, it is clear why Karen likes the song so much. Megan and Millie are sitting next to you so nobody notice your eyes on the beautiful Grant and her show. Unlike the others, Karen carefully prepares for her appearance. She pulls up her white blouse under which her large breasts arch proudly and conspicuously. She ties her denim jacket around her waist. With a hair tie, she ties a short braid, not missing your glances. She winks at you and is done.
Miss Grant’s performance is impressive. Her voice harmonizes well with the lyrics and you admit the song suits her. She obviously enjoys it and dances in front of the screen, moving wildly. The McKinley sisters and Denise laugh wildly when Karen lets herself go and puts on a handsome air guitar solo, ignoring the text’s guidelines. You like to see her let go like this. All the attention is on the wild Grant, who is thrown around in front of the TV and singing along wildly. “I’ve been up, I’ve been down, I’ve been weak, I’ve been strong, but I never meet someone like you-U-U-U, yeha!”
You laugh out loud with the others, but in the middle, you notice two hands on either side. You look to the side and notice the looks of your sisters and realize that you have made a mistake that could have far-reaching consequences. It is not easy for Megan or Millie to display exuberant behavior. You see the irrepressible love in her eyes. And what should they do? Your relationship is officially only a few hours old and you are feeling better than in your whole lives. Millie caresses your thigh, her hand disappearing in the gap between your thighs so that no one suspects. Megan does the same. A good idea. But no one can hide the looks. You take turns looking at the girls and you don’t know how to deal with the situation.
“Southern Giiiiiiirlsssss! Ba Bam!” Karen calls out and ends the song. She is out of breath and bows deeply when you all applaud her. You use the distraction to get up without your sisters stopping you. You whistle for Karen and her insert and give her a high five. “Thank you, thank you! You are great!” she calls and definitely behaves like a professional singer. Then she sits down in your old place between your sisters and picks up a bottle that is on the floor. When she finishes drinking she looks at you. “Now it’s your turn again Finn.” Her eyes show that she knows that it will tear you apart.
“Oh no. I already had my part, that’s enough for me“ you defend yourself, but in vain. After Karen has looked into the song list, her eyes sparkle excitedly and she pulls you towards her.
“What about this one?” she asks. You look at the title, then at her face.
“Not such a bad idea Grant. Cheap trick is not bad, but this fits me perfectly. Good idea.” Again, you clap hands and don’t miss the look your sisters give you. No wonder. What needs to happen for Finn Lynchwood to sing in the group without consuming his living weight of alcohol?
“What is it?” Claire also wants to know and also seems to be fine. Enough tears have been shed in the past few days. But you let her fidget a little more. Instead, you look at Millie and Megan.
“I hate singing,” you announce to the group. Loud booing sounds and you wave it off, but are hit with an empty plastic bottle, which you skilfully knock back. “But this song hits me where I live. We all want to thank Karen for persuading me to do another round of self-torture.” As if from one mouth, the group says: “Thank you Karen.” It sounds like in school.
“Don’t thank me until you know what he’s going to sing. Then I’ll be happy to take gifts.” She looks at Millie, who looks at you curiously. “No offense Millie. Today is your day.” Your princess laughs with Karen. Not bad.
“It’s okay, Karen. Who would have thought that I would experience something like this today? I thought the day couldn’t get any better.” She looks you straight in the eye when she says that.
“But I need your help for that,” you say, pointing to Millie and Megan. As the two start to move, you look for the text on your phone. You know it by heart – thanks to a perverted teddy bear – but you’re not sure about Megan. Millie has definitely not seen the film yet. When Megan takes a look at the display, her face brightens even more than ever.
“Good idea Karen!” she beams and Karen winks at you. Millie is also looking at your phone.
“Oh, I know the song.” So you don’t need lyrics. And when you feel your sisters by your side, all your worries fall away. What’s this? you ask yourself The answer only surprises you all the more. You just live in the moment.
“Where it started, I can’t begin to knowing” you sing – maybe a little scratchy, but with conviction.
“But then I know it’s growing strong” Megan joins. The other girls clap, whistle and cheer for you. And all without alcohol.
“Was in the spring” continues Megan and Millie steps on it.
“And spring became the summer”
“Who’d have believed we come along” you vary the text with ‘we’. And then there comes the part that so excited Megan, Millie and you. You definitely have to thank Karen properly for that.
“Hands,” you start.
“Touching hands” Megan covers your hand.
“Reaching out” Millie grabs your other.
“Touching me” You have to grin when you sing this.
Your sisters sing “Touching you” together. And then you all get in, yell and shout as loudly and unevenly as you can: “Sweeeeeet Caroline” And everyone on the sofa, you, Megan and Millie roars: “Bam Bam Bam! Good times never seemed so goooood! I’ve been inclined dadada to believe they never would.” Your sisters are in your arms and hold your hands, now completely open. Her fingers are wrapped tightly around yours and you know you will always be together. Then you look at Millie, she does the same. She looks at you, never lets you out of her sight and her voice sounds like warm waves of relief.
“But now I… Look at the night and it don’t seem so lonely. We filled it up with only two.“ Then Megan embraces you more tightly, you turn to her and see love on her face too.
“And when I hurt. Hurting runs off my shoulders. How can I hurt when holding you?” You have to swallow. Just one word from one of the two and you can no longer control yourself. You are so close to attacking Megan and Millie and just eating the two here and now. Yes, it would be wrong and dangerous, but by God, these two are just so perfect. Neil Diamond just puts it right. The feeling between you. The song condenses your feelings and channels them. And Megan and Millie pick them up, process them, and give them back to you in the same way. You are alive.
Then you see Karen approaching you, a smile on her face. The other girls get up too and everyone has to grin.
“One” whispers Millie.
“Touching one”, you add.
“Reaching out,” agrees Karen.
“Touching meee” calls Megan.
“Touching you …” again. Then it echoes through the whole house.
“Sweeeeeet Carlonie”
“Bam! Bam! Bam!” Everyone roar and so the song goes on and you know your life has taken a new turn. A new layer is on your feelings for your sisters. A new job, hand in hand with the one you already have. A new life. And it is perfect.
“Did someone call my name here?” it sounds from behind you. You just finished the song, you and your sisters fell into your arms and the others clapped for you laughing wildly. Carrie stands in the room and shakes her head amused.
“You can be heard all over the house. Finn, you sound like a trumpet on which an elephant has sat.” Obviously, teasing you is a nice pastime job for the girls. But that doesn’t bother you because you know that you have not just one, but two perfect girlfriends by your side. Carrie looks at Karen and the two wink. “I see my plan worked and Karen did her part of the job.” You raise your eyebrows. But Carrie doesn’t look at you, she looks at Millie.
“Millie,” she begins. “While dear Karen distracted you and your morons of brother and sister, we have prepared something for you.”
“Who is we?” Doesn’t ask you, but Megan. Apparently she is also surprised.
“Well, we’re all grown up and know about your parents’ reservations about letting you ride up here on your own.” She looks at you apologetically. “No offense Finn, but you can see that you are not always on guard.”
“Hey, I was always… oh who gives.” She is right and you rub your head embarrassed.
“You didn’t even notice that Emma, Rachel and I borrowed your car and left town.”
“You borrowed the Beast without asking Finn?” It slips Millie out in shock. If your sisters know one thing, then your car will come right after them on the list. You look surprised too, but Carrie just waves her off.
“No big deal, Rachel is good at sneaking around the house when Karen tries to disguise a seizure as dancing.”
“Hey. It worked. You can rely on my charms.” She looks at you and winks, which makes you sweat. The fact that she sticks out her breasts doesn’t really help either.
“One Moment. What were you up to? ”Asks Millie Carrie.
“Come out and see for yourself.” Carrie beckons you outside. You and Megan look at each other. Did you know anything about it? But she looks as baffled as you.
